Thursday Night Mindfulness in Movement Classes with Mira
in Herne Bay, Thursdays 6.00pm for the 23rd of Jan then from the 30th of Jan 2014 – 7.30pm.
From this Thursday 23 of January, Mira will be leading Mindfulness in Movement classes at Yoga on Jervois. These classes are inspired by Leander Kane’s Liberation through the Body teachings and will follow a similar format.
The Thursday evening classes will focus on Mindfulness in Movement, simple movements done very slowly, lying down, to help with settling into calm and absorption states that can be deeply relaxing. The primary focus will be calming the body formations so mindfulness of phenomena can be present. These classes will be taught in good humour and have a spacious, meditative dynamic so people can explore what is arising within themselves.
Meditations from the Satipatthana Sutta (Foundation of Mindfulness) will be gently woven into the experience of the movements.
These classes are suitable for a wide range of ages, and will be good for anyone who enjoys movement; people who have trouble settling their minds in meditation; people who enjoy meditation; people with body pain, and people who are feeling stressed. Flexibility or fitness are not needed. Beginners to advanced welcomed.
This weeks class will start at 6pm,
From next week (30th of January) the classes will start from 7.30pm
